FDIC Makes Public February Enforcement Actions

No Administrative Hearings Scheduled for April 2019

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) today released a list of orders of administrative enforcement actions taken against banks and individuals in February. There are no administrative hearings scheduled for April 2019.

The FDIC issued a total of 19 orders, including one order issued in January 2019. The administrative enforcement actions in those orders consisted of five Section 19 orders; four prohibition orders; two voluntary termination of insurance orders; one prompt corrective action; and seven terminations of consent orders.

Enforcement decisions

Congress created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1933 to restore public confidence in the nation's banking system. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's banks and savings associations, 5,406 as of December 31, 2018. It promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing risks to which they are exposed. The FDIC receives no federal tax dollarsinsured financial institutions fund its operations.
